Lonicera nitida (mame)

Originally a purchase from a regular garden centre, I though the multiple trunk had promise to form a nice little tree.

Rapid development saw the design flush out quickly, leading to a quality mame Bonsai in no time at all.

Now sold to a private collection in Melbourne.

Jan 2017.

Straight from the nursery to the work table to cut back trunks and rake back surface soil.

November 2017. More trunk removed and re-potted into a quality little Chinese pot. A great species for hedging in the landscape, this tree filled out and performed similarly as a Bonsai.

Jan 2020. Continued to build good structure and introduce movement into the branches in the crown. Hard to wire a tree this small. Re-potted into a beautiful little pot by Val Garth in Melbourne. Last image of the tree before selling.
