Field Grown Japanese Red Pine.
Very healthy with great movement and awesome potential for future bonsai. Tight root balls in good bonsai soil for easy transfer into bonsai containers in the future.
My favourite pine species for bonsai use. Very similar in growth habit and care to Japanese Black Pine, but with softer and thinner needles. A double flush pine.
Bark beggining to flake and show signs of maturity. Red-brown bark, which exfoliates with age and becomes flaky and papery.
Lots of buds popping in useful places.
